IGES launched its Geopolitical Academy

19. April 2025 IGES

The Institute for Geopolitics, Economy and Security (IGES) proudly launched its Geopolitical Academy – the first program of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The inaugural round of lectures began on April 3 and will run through April 29, 2025, with 20 participants in attendance.

Developed by IGES subject matter experts, the Academy offers a unique and original curriculum designed to help participants deepen their understanding of the complex dynamics of global, regional, and local politics.

The objective is for participants, upon completion of the program, to develop a clearer understanding of the impact of global political dynamics on Bosnia and Herzegovina, thereby fostering a more rational and informed approach to addressing complex political ambiguities.

The program is structured around three core themes:

  • The development and foundations of geopolitics,
  • Geopolitics in the 20th and 21st centuries and their implications for Bosnia and Herzegovina,
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina in thecontemporary world order.

The Academy is led by distinguished IGES members:

  • Prof. Dr. Sead Turčalo, Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Sarajevo
  • Prof. Dr. Emir Hadžikadunić, Professor at the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST) and guest lecturer at several international universities
  • Mr. Adnan Kapo, Director of IGES

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion from the Institute for Geopolitics, Economy and Security.
