The Institute for Geopolitics, Economy and Security (IGES) is proud to announce the launch of its Geopolitical Academy – the first program of its kind in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The inaugural round of lectures took place from April 3 to April 29, 2025, with more than 20 participants.

Developed by IGES subject matter experts, the Academy features a unique and original curriculum designed to help participants deepen their understanding of the complex dynamics of global, regional, and local politics. Special emphasis will be placed on the geopolitical forces shaping Bosnia and Herzegovina, fostering a more rational and informed approach to addressing key political challenges.

The program is structured around three core themes:

  • Projection of geopolitical power,
  • Geopolitics of the 20th and 21st century and their reflection for the Balkans,
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina in the contemporary world order.

The Academy is led by distinguished IGES members:

  • Prof. Dr. Sead Turčalo, Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Sarajevo,
  • Prof. Dr. Emir Hadžikadunić, Professor at the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST) and guest lecturer at several international universities,
  • Mr. Adnan Kapo, Director of IGES.

Upon successful completion of the program, participants will be awarded a Certificate of Completion from the Institute for Geopolitics, Economy and Security.
