Sven Alkalaj

Dr Sven Alkalaj is currently Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United Nations. He is the former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He also served as Executive Secretary of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. He was the first Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the United States of America, after Bosnian independence. He also served as Bosnian Ambassador to Belgium and Head of the Bosnian Mission to NATO. He is a member of the Institute for Geopolitics, Economy and Security, where he is also the head of the Diplomatic Club, which gathers former and current diplomats, as well as experts in the field of international relations.

Eldin Buljubašić

Eldin Buljubasic holds a master's degree in international relations and diplomacy from the University of Sarajevo. He also holds a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Marmara University in Istanbul, where he also studied at the University of Applied Sciences in Munich as part of a joint study program. He is a member of the Institute for Geopolitics, Economy and Security.

Emir Hadžikadunić

Emir Hadžikadunić

Foreign Policy Expert

Dr. Emir Hadžikadunić combines academic and diplomatic experience. He is currently an Assistant Professor at the Sarajevo School of Science and Technology (SSST) and a Visiting Professor at Albukhari International University (AIU). He has taught at universities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Turkey, and Malaysia, and has delivered guest lectures around the world. He is the author of two books, a co-author and editor of three books, and the author of numerous articles in peer-reviewed journals. His research, teaching, and professional interests include foreign policy, geopolitics, diplomacy, Middle Eastern and Balkan studies. He served as Ambassador of Bosnia and Herzegovina to Iran (2010–2013) and Malaysia (2016–2020), and as a consultant on EU, USAID, and UNDP projects in peacebuilding missions in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He regularly publishes columns for Fair Observer, TRT World, and local media in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is a member of the Institute for Geopolitics, Economy and Security (IGES).
Haris Hrle

Haris Hrle

Haris Hrle has been in the service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina for more than three decades. He was the ambassador in Austria, Saudi Arabia, USA and currently in India. He served as the head of the Department for Analysis and Planning of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina on several occasions. He is the author of key diplomatic analyzes related to foreign policy. He is a member of the Institute for Geopolitics, Economy and Security.
Zlatan Hrnčić

Zlatan Hrnčić

Strategic Planning and Human Rights

Dr. Zlatan Hrnčić works in the fields of strategic planning, project management, and the implementation of research and evaluations, primarily in the area of human rights protection. He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy at the University of Sarajevo, obtained his Master’s degree from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Sarajevo, and earned his PhD from the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Sarajevo, obtaining the title of Doctor of Sociological Sciences. He is the author of numerous publications, academic papers, research studies, evaluations, as well as educational and promotional programs. He is a member of the Institute for Geopolitics, Economy, and Security.

Mirela Imširović

Mirela Imširović

Dr. Mirela Imširović holds a PhD in International Relations obtained in China. She has received several international scholarships and research grants, including awards from the Chinese government, UNESCO/China Great Wall Programme, Erasmus+, and the Austrian Ministry of Education and OeAD. She currently works as an assistant professor and is an active member of European research networks (GLITSS, ENIS, FOGOS). She has served as a consultant for the Council of Europe in Strasbourg on projects related to education for democracy and intercultural dialogue. She currently serves as Communication Coordinator of the COST Action “Globalization, Illicit Trade, Sustainability and Security (GLITSS).” She is a member of the Institute for Geopolitics, Economy and Security.

Erdin Kadunić

Expert on European Union and German Politics

Erdin Kadunić holds a degree in Political Science (Freie Universität Berlin) and has many years of experience in politics, media, and public administration. He is an expert on European Union policy, with a particular focus on Germany’s domestic and foreign policy. Throughout his career, he has worked at the German Embassy in Sarajevo as well as at the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, where he was engaged in political analysis, strategic communication, and project management. He has worked extensively on issues related to migration, integration policies, and intercultural topics. He publishes political analyses in German and Bosnian-Herzegovinian media. He is a member of the Institute for Geopolitics, Economy, and Security.

Eldin Kajević holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree and brings more than two decades of senior leadership experience in the corporate sector across Canada and the United States, complemented by extensive experience in diplomacy and civic engagement. He served as Consul General of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Chicago, where he worked to strengthen educational, economic, and cultural cooperation between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the United States, with a particular focus on connecting the diaspora with development and investment initiatives. Throughout his career, he has led and contributed to the work of several non-governmental organizations focused on economic development, regional cooperation, public policy, and advancing the role of the diaspora in the socio-economic development of Southeast Europe, particularly Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Director of the Institute for Geopolitics, Economy and Security (IGES)

Dr. Adnan Kapo graduated in Political Science from Arizona State University in the United States and earned a Master’s degree in Economics from the University of Sarajevo and the University of Delaware. He completed his PhD at the Faculty of Political Sciences in Sarajevo. He served as an economic and foreign policy advisor to the member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Haris Silajdžić, as well as an advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Dr. Sven Alkalaj. He has extensive experience in the fields of politics, media, and management.

Amina Karic is Vice president of Operations in Authority Partners, one of the leading IT companies in Bosnia and Herzegovina. She studied Computing and Informatics at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering in Sarajevo, and has extensive experience in the area of IT, software engineering and management. Adnan Muratović

Adnan Muratović

Adnan Muratović earned his Master’s degree at the University of Sarajevo – Faculty of Law, at the Department of State and International Public Law, with a focus on asymmetric federalism and constitutional asymmetries. He has participated in numerous domestic and international conferences focused on legal and security issues. He is engaged in scientific research and professional work in the fields of law, geopolitics, and security. Professionally, he is employed at the University of Sarajevo – Rectorate, where he takes part in legal and regulatory processes in the field of higher education. Sead Turčalo

Geopolitics and International Security

Dr Sead Turčalo is an Associate Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Political Sciences at the University of Sarajevo, where he received his PhD in Security Studies. He teaches Geopolitics, International Security, Energy Security and Conflict Management at the undergraduate and graduate levels, as well as Geopolitical Studies of the Contemporary World at the interdisciplinary doctoral program. Professor Turcalo has published 5 books, numerous journal articles, and he is a regular participant in national and international academic conferences. He is the coordinator of several international projects. He attended the Leadership Development Academy at Stanford University and he is the Vice President of the Atlantic Initiative. Professor Turcalo is a consultant for various organizations, including OSCE and IOM. He is a member of the Institute for Geopolitics, Economy and Security.

Azem Vllasi

Azem Vllasi

Azem Vllasi is a lawyer. He was the president of the Yugoslav Youth Organization (SSOJ) 1974-1978. President of the Provincial Committee of the SC of Kosovo 1986-1988. He was arrested in 1989 and released in 1990 due to the conflict with the regime of Slobodan Milosevic in defense of the constitutional autonomy of Kosovo. Active in civil society. He wrote two books: Masters of Darkness and The Beginning Not to Be Forgotten. He is member of Institute for Geopolitics, Economy and Security.
